Have you seen recently debuted Collected Magazine? This new online mag just came out with their first issue, but I’m already crushing.
Collected is definitely a more gender-neutral magazine than some of the other heavy hitters today, which was refreshing and fun. It’s also geared as a “lifestyle magazine” instead of just interiors, so there is equal emphasis on food, interiors, small business, fashion, and other editorial. The interiors that were featured were really realistic and ...

One of my sweet readers posted on my facebook page a few days ago with this question:
I am 6 months pregnant. I have a pretty clear idea of what I want to do in the room but I am having a really hard time finding a cute, comfortable and reasonably priced chair. I would like it to be modern and possibly a rocker but not one of those gliders. Do you ...

I was having fun the other day reading some of my archives (back when my pictures were way less than awesome and terribly sized). I found my original living room tour (from my bachelorette pad) and thought we could do a little “that was then/this is now” tour.
First up, bookshelves and tv stand then (and weird feather wreath and sad little tv):
Bookshelves now (in the dining room):

Sofa & art before:
Well the sofa is ...

Have you had a chance to peruse the latest Lonny magazine? The May/June issue is full of elegant spaces, gorgeous patterns (lots of wallpaper and geometric rugs), and some fun kid spaces. I clipped some of my faves to share with you, but be sure to check out the issue for details.
(ADORE that pom-pom trim! And I’m always a sucker for a monogram…)

Now that we’re only a few days into away, it’s time for my annual birthday wish list! The big day is the 15th.
I’m leaving off the obvious – iPad, digital video camera, new iPhone- because of cost. But oh how I dream.
Otherwise, here we go (I’m a little fashion obsessed at the moment)!
JCrew Sweatshirt (only one example of all the lovely striped tops from there I’d like to own!)
Bracelet from Madewell (lots of color options)

Tote ...

I love to plan and throw parties, and it seems like every time we host a shindig, I learn so much. Just like anything else, entertaining is often trial-and-error. But I’m sharing a few of my best tips to help you get started on the right foot.
1. Change up the furniture. Regular, practical room layout is not always the best solution for a large party. We usually move out the dining room chairs and sometimes ...

I wanted to send a big warm thank you to the sites that shared our house photos! So much support from the blogging community, and I’ve been so grateful!
Desire to Inspire (the first decor blog I ever read) led the way.
Unplggd scooped our window-seat media storage.
Apartment Therapy shared some photos – read through the comments for some source information.
Curbed Seattle gave me a great shoutout.
Be @ Home asked me some questions about how I started ...

Friends, I can’t thank you all enough for the words of encouragement between my announcement last week and the debut of my portfolio pictures. You’ve all been so awesome!
I want to make a special offer to you, my readers and closest circle of supporters. I know that probably only a handful of you are at a point where you’re ready to bring in a decorator for a full-room project (and if you are, give me ...

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are 10 ways to bring some new life to your home (with minimal cost or effort!):
1. Rearrange some furniture. If your living room is feeling a little stale and cramped, try swapping some of the furniture around (this is particularly helpful with seating).  Or maybe relocate a chair from your office that is barely used and bring it into the den for a new splash of color.
2. ...
