Now that Christmas is over, I’m gearing up for New Years… while we don’t have any big parties to attend, I’ll be snuggled up to Ryan watching the Space Needle fireworks from our dining room (we’re merely blocks away and have a great view!).
If my decor could match my New Year’s, I think it would be dark, cozy, and with plenty of sparkle… something like this!

I was cruising Z Gallerie the other day when I stumbled upon this great deal – the curtains above are just under $35 per panel. I’ve been having trouble finding a pattern that added some femininity to the massive brown sofa but didn’t turn “girly” and combined with the price, these seemed too good to be true! A few emails back and forth and our bachelor purchased a pair. I can’t wait to see them ...

One of the most essential elements of design is making sure everything is scaled (aka sized) properly in proportion to the room and to the other pieces in the room. How many times have I seen a “before” room with a weird mixture of too-large furniture with too-small furniture and a tiny rug to unite them all? Too many times.
Young House Love just shared their new living room rug purchase, and it’s a great example ...

Since I offer e-decorating services, I often refer fabric for my client’s home… and unless they want to pay me extra to help them place a to-the-trade-only order (which I can do), I suggest fabrics that they can purchase themselves. Want to know my favorite places to shop online for fabric that anyone can buy (yep, some of it’s even designer brand!). Of course you do!
(I’m not getting perked or anything by any of these ...

I’m beginning to sense a theme in my inspiration pictures for our living room. Take these two photos for example:
One of the first things I ask my clients to do is send me inspiration images that convey their style (or if they aren’t internet fiends like us and don’t have a photo stockpile, I send them to the bookstore to buy some shelter magazines and leaf through them). Visuals speak really loudly, especially when people ...

It’s been a few weeks but I finally have an update for the bachelor pad project!
Matt and I (with some muscle from Ryan) moved around his existing furniture and I made a few vetoes. Matt still has a bit of decluttering to do, but we went ahead and started hanging art this weekend. Next up is Phase Two. We have a few furniture purchases to make (that coffee table’s days are numbered!) and a LOT ...

When I photographed Laura’s Thanksgiving table, I was actually down there to get photos of the newly finished bonus room. I completed a design board for Laura and Jon when they first moved in a little over a year ago. Some of the board included DIY projects to keep costs low, but they have been troopers and finally finished everything up! The room is an office and hang-out space. We’ve since changed a few things ...

As we’re approaching the end of the year, I’m reviewing my resolutions and realized that I’m falling short on a few. I hadn’t foreseen that we’d be moving mid-way through the year, but I haven’t really held up my “add more color to my decor” resolution. However, I have been drawn to colorful rooms more and more… baby steps, right?
So good, right?

The link party is here!
I opted to use ONLY Lamps Plus products for my design board (if yours just has one or two, that’s fine). I had a ton of fun sifting through the huge selection of merchandise. I ended up bookmarking many pieces, but alas, only so many could fit into my imaginary dining room. You could easily furnish a whole room here, but of course the gold is their wide variety of table ...

Time for another edition of taking one piece of furniture and showing it all styled up in two different designs. Just goes to show that a great investment piece can travel with you from home to home over the years and serve a new purpose in a new room.
This time around we’re working with a great console table from Room and Board. Console tables are GREAT because they are the perfect height for an entry, ...
