I’m a little obsessed with my new bar glasses. I snagged them from Antiquaria (see, Etsy isn’t the only place to find vintage!).
The design is just a little faded but I sort of like that about them. They are the perfect size for a little whisky on the rocks (Ryan) or a rum and coke (me). I originally bought the set of four that was listed, then they emailed me to say they found another ...

We’re not huge Valentine’s Day people – I’ve always liked the holiday, but now it falls so close to our anniversary that it feels like we just did the romantic out-to-dinner lovey dovey stuff. So we keep it low-key. I do like an excuse to decorate though, so I pulled this table setting together with things we already had lying around the house.
Our regular dinner plates, topped with pink depression glass plates, clusters of votives, ...

After sharing the design board for Laura’s Thanksgiving table, I knew it really had to come together so I could show you pictures. We ran into some issues with snow here in Seattle (and on her steep hilly road!) so I’m just getting photos now. A few things changed from the design board, but I love how it turned out!
We were able to do a lot on a small budget. Laura had the white china, ...

Sunday I spent a four hours with my bff Laura getting ready for her Thanksgiving table. I posted some inspiration pics yesterday, now I wanted to share the general (very rough sketch) of what her table will look like. Next week I’ll be over there to snap some photos to share with you!
We’re going for whites and metallics with a hint of rustic in three horizontal burlap “runners” with gold chargers and Laura’s wedding china. ...

Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week (for the US, at least!). I’ve been storing up some Thanksgiving inspiration – mostly courtesy of Eddie Ross, because that man certainly knows his way around a place setting! I spent Sunday hunting for deals for my friend Laura’s Thanksgiving table, and I can’t wait to share it with you after the big day!
Here’s where I was getting some ideas:
Color palette (whites and metallics) from Dwell Studio, ...

While poking around the Wisteria site (so inspiring, but not always affordable) I saw this little drinking glass caddy.
Wouldn’t it be the perfect touch to your last summer party this August? Fill them with lemonade, iced tea, or sangria, and pairwith table toppers like relaxed linen table cloths, collected vintage china, and mason jars filled with wildflowers. The best part? The whole thing is only $24. And since they’re not throw-away plastic, you’ll have them for ...

I’m in love with this party table designed by Eddie Ross. There are a few things going on here that I think would be easy to replicate:
1. A great color scheme. Eddie pulled the blues, pinks, and oranges from those vintage plates. But he made that color combo pop by bringing them to the forefront. Love the blue candles especially. So unexpected!
2. Using runners instead of a table cloth for pattern. A whole tablecloth in ...

The lone decoration* at our monthly potluck on Saturday. A handmade pinata to go with our taco bar theme. For my it’s-my-birthday-but-this-isn’t-a-birthday-party party. Just a regular old potluck that happens to have a whale dangling over the table.
DIY instructions for making your own pinata?
1. Put down the paper mache.
2. Step away from the newspaper.
3. DON’T DO IT.
If you value your time, don’t spend hours of days over the course of more than a week making ...

On Saturday, Ryan and I kicked off what we hope will be a long-standing tradition – a monthly potluck dinner party for all our local friends. Since this was the first month, several people already had commitments, and we ended up with an intimate gathering of eight. Which worked out well, because it was the perfect number we could squeeze around the table.
You may recognize the table as the one that usually resides in our ...

Even after a rainy yucky week, the sun somehow managed to muster up the strength to shine in Seattle this weekend. It was a little overcast at times, but spring was in the air, birds were singing, and I wore flipflops to walk to the mailbox (and to get some coffee, of course).
All this thinking of spring and our garden has me so excited for some outdoor entertaining. We have a big backyard, and though ...
