Funny when you notice a trend in your own photo resevoir. Like these tablescapes I seem to have collected. Only once I noticed them did I realize how much I long to throw a dinner party. And actually, throwing a dinner party is on my list of “25 things to do before I turn 25″. [...] My hostess secret? I get my appetizers from Costco. Mini quiche, mini egg rolls, tomato and feta tartlettes, and the spanakopita are all good but not always in stock. If you go the frozen route, be sure to enlist an extra pair of hands to be pulling stuff out of the oven while you can [...] We’re not hosting Thanksgiving (whew!) but I thought I’d see for experiment’s sake what kind of tables etting I could come up with out of our own cupboards. This look was my favorite and was pretty simple. For the table runner I used a piece of plaid fabric I rescued from the remnant bin at Joann’s [...] Tried to take as many non-people photos as possible. Last two: I was Nancy Drew, Ryan was a robot (the RY3000). Questions? I’ll answer in the comments section! My friend Shannah is another bridesmaid in my pal Melissa’s wedding, and last night we met up at Artco to brainstorm about centerpieces because somehow we offered to do them. But this post isn’t about the centerpieces, because I was too enraptured by the Halloween decorations! I love them! I even bought the special Martha [...] I’m not usually a big advocate for favors (this isn’t the Oscars, you don’t get a goodie bag), but these were easy enough that I just went for it. They helped pull in the color scheme and will be a nice treat for the guests after they leave. Exhibit A: The invitation. Purchased at Paper Delights in Wallingford (they’ll print your text for you, but I just ran mine through the printer). Most darling store ever. I could have spent my entire paycheck there, and even Ryan liked browsing through the letterpressed cards. Sorry for the tiny picture. It was either this or [...] |
