82nd Oscars FashionThe Oscars are always one of my favorite nights on television. Not for the elaborate sets or corny jokes, but for the ridiculously yummy eye-candy for us fashion-lovers. Below, some of my favorites. Rachel McAdams, my choice for best dressed. Sandra Bullock, Best Actress, looked stunning in sparkles and the night’s signature lip color, hot pink. Maggie Gyllenhaal was gorgeous in florals. This isn’t a great picture of Elizabeth Banks’ dress, but I loved it when she was presenting. Call me crazy, but I think Miley looks grown up and beautiful in this gown. Kristen Stewart’s dress was classic and elegant in an unexpected shade of matte inky silk. Both Rachel McAdams and Maggie Gyllenhaal are perennial faves of mine, and their organical florals were both breathtaking last night. Definitely my two favorites. And Sandra looked soooo pretty. Kristen Stewart looked terrific, but i couldn’t get past her presentation akwardness.
I have to agree with you about Miley! I think she looked stunning!
Brianne,
I totally hear you on Kristen’s awkwardness. When she gets the memo that she doesn’t have to act like a sullen bratty teen to get teen roles, I’ll be a happy camper! She was lovely as Bella – maybe channeling some of that into everyday (or at least to the Oscars!) would win over more of her older on-the-fence fans.
Miley needs to learn how to stand up straight. Or not wear dresses that will fall down if she stands up. And Kristen…oh gosh. I think any of us could have presented better than she did.
Love the dresses…so pretty!
I loved Elizabeth Banks’ dress, too. Versace, I think it was. You didn’t mention Carey Mulligan, but I thought she was stunning in her Prada. I thought Miley just looked uncomfortable which made me feel uncomfortable. Maggie was gorgeous, and Sandra was radiant. Can we talk about SJP’s total miss? Such a disappointment!
Amber-
I was VERY disappointed in Sarah Jessica’s dress. Chanel or not, it wasn’t flattering. I think Carey Mulligan is adorable but I wasn’t a huge fan of the dress. I think the Oscars is a floor-length affair. And she looks so darling in color that I wished the Prada wasn’t so heavy looking.
Yes, message to Miley: stand up straight!
