    Movie recommendations?

popcornRyan got us a Netflix account and I have my own queue! Question is, what do I put on it?

For reference, some of my favorite movies are: American Beauty, Chocolat, Almost Famous, Under the Tuscan Sun, and Benny and Joon.

    Any recommendations?

    • Pushing Daisies, Season 1 and 2.

    • If you add a few movies that you like to your queue, Netflix will give you the “if you like this movie, try THIS movie” and it will give a ton of recommendations based on your previous interests. Also, when you send movies back, it’ll ask you to rate it which will then give you even more recommendations. It’s awesome.

Hi Maggie! I’m working on the photos and information for the make-over, in the meantime… You should watch:
Le Fableux Destin de Amelie Poulain (Amelie) I’ve seen this so many times it is beautiful!
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels- Steve Martin + Michael Caine = brilliant comedy
Anything by Wes Anderson!!! The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, The Life Aquatic
I just saw Defiance, it was really good!
Hmm, that’s all for now! Enjoy Netflix! I’ve been considering that…

    • You’ll love Netflix! My suggestion – rate LOTS and LOTS of movies. Netflix is usually pretty spot on with their recommendations once you’ve rated several.

Cameren Crowe (director of Almost Famous) is one of my fave directors! Say Anything is a fantastic Crowe movie (picture John Cusack with radio raised above his head blaring “Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel-great scene!)Elizabeth Town is pretty good too. I just got Netflix last month and I love rating the movies and seeing what Netflix will come up with as a recommendation. It’s brilliant!
